I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THIS YEAR WAS ONE OF OUR BEST EVER! WE HAD ALL OF OUR SMALL FAMILY WITH US TOO.
ONE OF DH’S AND MY GREATEST GIFTS WAS A LETTER FROM ONE OF OUR DAUGHTERS. WITH NOT A LOT OF MONEY THIS YEAR , SHE SAT DOWN AND TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE ABOUT HER FEELINGS TO US. NOW LET ME TELL YOU SHE HAD US BOTH CRYING MORE THAN ONCE. I CAN’T SHOW THE LETTERS CUZ YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET A TISSUE TOO. THE WORDS SHE WROTE WILL BE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS AND THE LETTERS WILL GO TO A SAFE PLACE.
ON ANOTHER NOTE, I HAVE TO TELL YOU WHAT I FOUND AT THE OUR LOCAL GOODWILL….I WAS SO EXCITED I COULD NOT STAND MYSELF….LAST FRIDAY AFTER WORK I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE WHETHER TO EVEN STOP AT THE GOODWILL..I GOT IN THE WRONG LANE LEAVING WORK AND THOUGHT, WHAT THE HECK, I WILL JUST STOP. I SURE AM GLAD THAT I DID.
I GOT TO THE HOME GOODS SIDE OF THE STORE AND LOOKED ON A SHELF AND WHAT DID I SEE BUT….
OH MY….A SMALL STARFLOWER WATT POTTERY PITCHER…BE STILL MY HEART!
I TURNED AROUND AND SAW THIS..
A MEDIUM SIZED WATT APPLE PITCHER. AND……
RIGHT NEXT TO IT THIS LARGE (#17) STARFLOWER WATT PITCHER… CAN YOU BELIEVE IT.
NOW THESE ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS….THEY ARE REAL THING……SORRY I CAN’T TELL YOU WHAT I PAID FOR THEM, BUT LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS A STEAL, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY PAID A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT FOR PREVIOUS WATT POTTERY THAT WE HAVE. I WILL BE TAKING THESETO MY SPACE AT PILOT MOUNTAIN PEDDLERS.
SO, LIKE I SAID IN THE BEGINNING, THINGS WERE GOOD THIS CHRISTMAS. I HOPE YOU ALLHAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY BEGINNING TO THE NEW YEAR. WE WILL TALK AGAIN SOON….SHERIE
What a beautiful gift, our daughter did us a letter several years ago and sometimes I take it out and re read it, it quite simply is one of the best gifts any parent can receive.PRICELESS~

I believe these are the best kinds of gifts one can give and receive....they are from the heart.
ReplyDeleteI think the words in the letters should be kept PERSONAL...because that's what they are. They were meant just for you and your husband.
The Watt pottery is beautiful...it looks like it's in pristine condition as well.

What an awesome present to get from your daughter. For me, I think Christmas should be more about giving of your talents than spending on mindless gifts and trying to figure out what to get everyone. Homemade, handmade, heartmade, that is what I love best about giving at Christmas. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas too, it just seems to fly by so quickly. I have been reminded that Christmas should be about the birth of our Saviour who came to live with us on earth and tht we should celebrate that every day! Praise be to God.
